How to give the kitten a bottle
The cat's milk is the main food for nourishing a small kitten. However, when we find ourselves in the situation where it is our job to feed the little Kitty because he has been abandoned, we must be ready to know how to do it.
Kittens for the first two weeks should be fed every 2 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night. To feed the little kitty we mainly need a cat bottle that you can simply buy in a pet shop.
Then you will need the artificial milk for kittens , for the quantity and quality you can consult a veterinarian. But let's see below everything you need to feed the kitten and how to give a bottle to the little cat.
Necessary
- Baby bottle for cats
- Milk for kittens
- Soft towels
Preparation of the bottle
Just like with a newborn, the bottle must be sterilized before being used . Then sterilize the bottle in a bowl of boiling water for about 5 minutes. Then let it drain on a cloth.
Then fill the bottle with the milk for kittens following the instructions on the package or the veterinarian and heat the bottle in a container of hot water.
Once the milk is warmed up, before feeding the kitten, test the temperature by dropping a few drops of milk on your hand just like you do when feeding a human baby.
Feed the kitten
Once the bottle is ready, sit down and place the towel over your breasts and the kitten on your lap with the belly down.
Then put the nipple of the bottle in the mouth of the little Cat, who will start sucking.
It is important not to lift the kitten's head when giving him the bottle, otherwise you risk to suck the milk into the lungs of the cat. When the latter moves away from the bottle, it means that he is no longer hungry.
Most likely after eating the kitten will fall asleep . Then place it in its warm bed and let it rest.
